Property Report

Industry professionals and business leaders will be gathering at the inaugural PropertyGuru Malaysia Real Estate Summit to be held on 16 August at the InterContinental Hotel in Kuala Lumpur. Experts from across the real estate, finance, and government sectors will share their insights on what the future will hold for the Malaysian property market.

The theme for the Summit is “Shaping the Future of Malaysian Real Estate,” and centres around the backdrop to softening market conditions as the domestic property market undergoes consolidation and a period of correction.

Sheldon Fernandez, country manager of PropertyGuru Malaysia, said: “By bringing together some of the most notable industry influencers and thought leaders, the Summit will look to exchange ideas and drive dialogue in defining the future of the Malaysian property sector. We believe that the Summit can act as a platform to provide guidance and clarity to the industry and key stakeholders as to the state and direction of Malaysian property for the rest of 2017 and prospects for 2018.”

Some of the speakers at the Summit include Rafiq Jumabhoy (Managing Principal, Orkney Investments Malaysia), Christine Li (Director, Cushman & Wakefield Singapore), Nicholas Ho (Deputy Managing Director, Ho & Partner Architects), Elvin Fernandez (Managing Director, Khong & Jaafar), Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib (CEO, UEM Sunrise Berhad), as well as Prem Kumar (Executive Director, Jones Lang Wootton, and Chairman, PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Malaysia) 2017).

PropertyGuru’s Asia Real Estate Summit series is a dedicated, high-level forum focusing on cutting-edge strategies and industry innovation, and are held annually in the region’s most established real estate markets such as Singapore, Thailand, and Indonesia. The 2017 conference series begins in Malaysia.
